The Dera Bassi Municipal Council (MC) issued notice on Monday to Gupta Builders and Promoters Pvt Ltd to stop work with immediate effect for allegedly undertaking unapproved construction on the Gulabgarh-Behra road.
MC office officials said the notice with Ref. Number BB 7130 of December 5, 2016, has been issued in which the owners of the Gupta Builders and Promoters Pvt Ltd (GBP) group have been asked to give an explanation regarding the approval of the project “GBP Rosewood 3’ in about 21-22 acre land.
It has been learnt that the Municipal Engineer Wing Officials visited the site and found that a JCB machine and tractor trolleys were seen in action at the site. Taking cognisance of the complaint, the civic officials conducted an investigation, which termed the construction as “unapproved” and sought an explanation.
“We have issued notice to the GBP Group, asking them to explain the reason of the construction. The builders have allegedly been carrying out construction projects without seeking clearance from the MC,” said Bhupinder Saini, President, MC, Dera Bassi.
On the other hand, when contacted, Satish Gupta, owner of the GBP Group, agreed that he received the notice from the Dera Bassi MC but claimed that the project named ‘Rosewood 3’ had already been duly approved.
