70-yr-old survives leopard attack

Seventy-year-old nomad Ghulam Rasool Bhat of Banshala village in the Gundna subdivision of Doda district fought a leopard which attacked him two days back.

The leopard attacked the 70-year-old nomad in the dense forest of Gundna around 3 pm on Sunday. He fought the leopard with bare hands for a few minutes, after which the wild cat left.

Bhat received serious injuries in his right arm and bore 14 tooth marks on his back. He told his family about the incident. They took him to the district hospital in Doda.

Bhat sent an application to Doda Station House Officer J Kichloo. The police official confirmed that the incident took place a few days back. — OC
