Another city boy cracks JEE (Advanced)

Chandigarh, June 18

Another city lad Kunal Mittal did the city proud by bagging the second position in the tricity in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Advanced), conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Kunal got the 20th rank.

Son of doctor parents Kunal Mittal had cleared his Class XII examination by scoring 96.2 per cent marks from Guru Gobind Singh Collegiate School, Sector 26, Chandigarh, and was taking coaching classes in Sector 34 for the last two years. 

He opted for the non-medical stream even thought his parents–father Dr BR Mittal, Head of the Department of Nuclear Medicines, PGI, Chandigarh, and mother Dr Manisha Mittal, an embryologist- were from medical background.

Mittal said he used to study for four hours on an average, apart from the coaching classes. Aiming to be a research scholar, Mittal said he would prefer to pursue his engineering from IIT, Mumbai. 

Apart from Himanshu Gupta (Rank 7) and Kunal Mittal (Rank 20), Arshdeep Singh, (Rank 41), Kashish Bansal (Rank 116), Chakshu Goyal (Rank 119), Lovish (Rank 124), Nikhil Goyal (Rank 142) and Tushar Gupta (Rank 194) are among the top 200 ranks from the city. 

Similarly, Nimish Goyal (Rank 252), Harjot Singh (Rank 407) and Mohit Jindal (Rank 463) are other achievers.
