Dehradun, November 25
Dr Sanjeev Goswami and Dr Naresh Napalchayal were today elected president and general secretary of the Provincial Medical and Health Services (PMHS) at the Chief Medical office (CMO) Dehradun.
Chief election officer Dr BS Jangpangi said Dr Sanjeev Goswami received 370 votes while his nearest rival, Dr DP Joshi, received 317 votes.
For the post of general secretary, Dr Naresh Napalchayal received 502 votes while his nearest rivals, Dr Navjeet Bedi and Dr Harender Malik, could muster only 80 and 99 votes, respectively. A total of 687 votes were found valid.
For the post of additional general secretary, Kumaon, Dr Deep Prakash received 191 votes and Dr Manoj Kandpal 121 votes.
Other unanimously elected office-bearers are: Dr TK Pant was elected vice-president (general); Dr Garima Pant, vice-president (woman); Dr Anand Shukla, vice-president, (headquarters); Dr Dinesh Chauhan, additional general secretary; Dr Ram Prakash, treasurer; and Dr Naval Kishore Mishra editor.
