Police came to know about a meeting of Akali Dal, Amritsar, Akali Dal Panch Pardhani and United Akali Dal in a Gurdwara led by Jasa Singh Galwadi. They were planning to appeal shopkeepers for bandh in the city.

When they were coming out of Gurdwara they were rounded up by the police. The protesters raised slogans in favour of Khalistan and demanded stern action against Dera Sirsa chief. Meanwhile, the bandh call failed to have any response and all shops remained opened in the area and people lead a normal day.
