Chandigarh: Photographic Society of Chandigarh (PSc) organised a four-hour workshop titled ‘Click pin tack sharp photo in all focus modes’ conducted by Kulbhushan Kanwar, a senior member of PSC at Chatbir Zoo on SUnday. Kulbhushan Kanwar, a renowned butterfly photographer, gave some tips on butterfly photography. Society president Naveen Sexena and general secretary Shirin Seth thanked the participants and said the next photo-shoot would be organised soon which will be conducted by Jagjit Singh, renowned photographer and member of the PSC, on the subject of ‘How to shoot stars’.

Property consultants hail CHB’s decision

JD Gupta, president of the Property Consultants Association, hailed the decision of the Chandigarh Housing Board to buy land from the farmers of Chandigarh directly for the housing purpose. He said the CHB’s move to reduce the cost of the flats to be constructed in the housing schemes was a welcome step.

Mahasampark Abhiyan meeting

A meeting of the Mahasampark Abhiyan organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party took place in Kedarnath Sahani Auditorium in Delhi, wherein nine states of the Northern region took part. A team of 49 members, under the leadership of the state president of the BJP, along with all state office bearers, district presidents, morcha president, and heads of Mahasampark Abhiyan Committee, co-conveners and the workers of the Digital Team also participated. Media cell convener of Chandigarh state Ravinder Pathania also informed that in addition to Chandigarh State, other states like Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir and Delhi also attended the meeting.

Rotary Club holds installation ceremony 

Expanding its social responsibility to make Chandigarh a cleaner place, Rotary Club, Chandigarh, Central, formally announced the launch of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” on Saturday during the installation ceremony of its new president Rotarian Ajit Goel and his team for 2015-16. Giving details, club spokesperson Raman Malik said an attempt would be made during the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” to remove filth from different parts of the city by allocating Sector-wise duties to fellow Rotarians. The entire process will be carried out with the help of resident welfare associations. Adult education, building toilet blocks for girls in schools and free vocational courses for girls too is on the top of the club’s agenda.

Mango party

A mango party was organised by the Chandigarh Sood Sabha at Sood Bhawan in Sector 44 on Sunday. Visitors relished different varieties of the summer fruit. — TNS
