TTE thrown out of train near F’bad

Prem Singh Meena (45), a travel ticket examiner (TTE) on board of the Dehradun- Bandra Express train was pushed off the running train near Old Faridabad here last night, allegedly by pickpockets. He has been admitted to a private hospital with multiple fracture and injuries. His condition is stated to be stable.

The TTE was checking the tickets as the train bound to Mumbai crossed the Tuglakabad station and was approaching Old Faridabad when six youths approached him. He said he was standing near the gate of S-8 sleeper coach when one of accused called him by name and asked for tickets as he claimed that they could not procure the tickets before boarding the train.

Meena said while he started preparing the tickets and asked for money, one of the them took him close to the door and pushed him out of the train. Meena, who is under treatment at Fortis- Escorts Hospital, told the police that the youths who had thrown him out of the train could be part of a gang of pickpockets and thieves active on trains on section of the railway network.
