District and Session Judge Deepak Gupta has granted conditional anticipatory bail to music composer Vishal Dadlani in his sarcastic tweet on Jain saint Tarun Sagar Maharaj case today. Dadlani had filed anticipatory bail on September 17, which was adjourned for September 23.
The court observed in the order, “It is directed that in the event of arrest of the petitioner-accused, he be released on bail on furnishing a bail bond of Rs 50,000 with a surety in the like amount to the satisfaction of the arresting officer, as and when he is sought to be arrested.”
The court further observed, “The bail is subject to condition that he will join the investigation as and when required and that he will not leave India without permission of the court. He will also not make any attempt to influence the investigation.”
The public prosecutor submitted that since the petitioner had not cooperated with the investigation agency, so his anticipatory bail petition be dismissed.
The counsel for the petitioner pleaded that at no stage did the petitioner ever denied posting of the alleged objectionable tweets.
