Former panchayat pradhan, sahayak booked for forgery

Nurpur, February 6

Indora police in Nurpur sub division have registered a forgery case against Rajinder Singh Minhas, ex-panchayat pradhan, and Jodh Raj, former panchayat sahayak, of Bahadpur gram panchayat yesterday.

As per the police information, the block development officer-cum-assistant commissioner of Fatehpur block has lodged a complaint against the duo.

The assistant commissioner alleged that the two committed financial irregularities in the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) works in the panchayat from July 2011 to 2013.

A departmental inquiry had been conducted against them and after verifying their alleged involvement in the financial irregularities, the block authorities have registered an FIR against them.

DSP Manoj Joshi said a case under Sections 403, 420 and 34 of the IPC had been registered against the two accused.
