Dharamsala, March 24
The local police busted a sex racket in McLeodganj on the intervening night of March 23-24. Kangra SP Sanjeev Gandhi said some people were running the racket in a hotel in an organised manner.
Four persons, including Vinod, resident of Pathankot; Aditya Sharma, resident of Noida; Rohan Puri, resident of Pathankot and Gurdev Singh, resident of Amritsar, were arrested by the police. Ten more persons might be arrested in the case. Six girls being forced into sex trade were rescued from the hotel, the SP said. A case under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and Section 370 of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
Sources said the police had laid a trap for nabbing the accused after getting a tip-off that a sex racket was being run in the hotel. Some policemen also went as decoy customers to the hotel to nab the accused.
The police sources also said that the racket was being run from Amritsar in Punjab and police officials were looking for the kingpin of the racket. — TNS
