SC/ST students’ scholarship scheme revised

The Cabinet has approved the revision of scholarship scheme for SC/ST/OBC/Minority students. The decision was taken yesterday in a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

An official statement said the Department for the Welfare of SC/ST/OBC had reviewed the scholarship schemes in the present scenario and aimed to simplify the process for students and government agencies for quick approval of scholarships.

The department was implementing some state-funded scholarship schemes for socio-economic development of students belonging to the minority categories, it said. 

As per the official statement, the scheme includes reimbursement of tuition fees to minority students of Classes I to XII in recognised public and private schools in the city. Financial assistance for purchase of stationery and scholarship to students belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Minority category were also included in the scheme, it said.
