Panchkula: A fancy dress competition was held at Valley Public School, Panchkula. Students from Classes II to V participated in it. The result of the competition was announced by principal GC Mittal. Rishika of II-A and Harnoor from IV-B stood first, followed by Aditya from II-A and Shivangi of IV-C, who stood second. Bhumika and Anya of Class II stood third in the competition.
Tributes paid to Tagore
Tributes were paid to Rabindranath Tagore at Satluj Public School, Sector 4, Panchkula. A special assembly was held on the occasion and students spoke about Rabindranath Tagore’s life and achievements. Poems and songs were recited from the poet’s book, “Gitanjali”. A special Bengali dance was also performed. A essay-writing competition was held for secondary classes. Principal Krit Serai said, “It was a proud moment for India when the Noble Prize for Literature awarded to Tagore. He was the first Indian to receive the award.”
Fruit Day
Zirakpur: Tiny tots celebrated Fruit Day at St Joan’s Public School, Zirakpur. The programme aimed at familiarising them with various fruits and making them understand that fruits were an essential part of daily meal. The chairperson of St Joan’s Public School, Shanta Nayyar, took an active part in the programme.
Mother’s Day celebrated
Mother’s Day was celebrated at Strawberry Wonder Kids School, Wadhawa Nagar, Zirakpur. Students from pre-nursery to Class III participated in various activities such as greeting card-making, letter writing, singing and dance. School principal Kamal Chadha felicitated and announced the winning mothers of various competitions like catwalk and dance. The title of “Mrs Strawberry Winder Knds Mum” was bagged by Nishu whereas the first runner-up was Bharti and the second Priyanka. Kuljeet bagged the prize of Strawberry Dancer Mom. TNS
