Muktsar, October 25
The Education Department has decided to hold “remedial coaching” classes for students of Class IX, who need to do better in science and mathematics, from November 1 to February 15, under the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA).
As many as 44,094 students from across the state will benefit from this one-hour special class, which will be held from 3.20 pm to 4.20 pm daily after the regular schools hours.
All the District Education Officers have been informed about this.
“The teachers for these classes will be paid approximately Rs 500 for each student. If implemented in letter and spirit, this would be a positive step for students weak in these subjects,” said Devinder Kumar Rajoria, District Education Officer (DEO), Muktsar.
The total number of students in a group won’t exceed 30.
If the number of students who need the coaching is higher, another group would be formed.
Besides, the students would have to give three tests – pre-test, mid-term review test and post-test. The record of these tests will be kept separate.
