Srinagar, June 17
Two militants were killed and three soldiers, including an Army officer, injured on Monday in a gunfight in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, police said.
“The three injured have been shifted to a hospital and some militants are still engaged in the gunfight,” the police said.
The gunfight took place after personnel of the Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operations Group (SOG) of state police personnel surrounded the Bidoora village in Achabal area following information about the presence of militants.
The bodies of the slain militants have been recovered. Their identities were being ascertained, the police added. IANS
