Deputy Commissioner Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu has directed all officers to ensure that the name of the district is written as “Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar” and not “Ajitgarh” in all official correspondence.

Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu, who was presiding over a district-level road committee meeting here, also said roadside encroachments, which resulted in mishaps, would not be acceptable.

He directed the executive officers of the PWD and the Mandi Board to check roads falling within their jurisdiction and submit a report in this regard after removing roadside encroachments.

He also directed all executive engineers to prepare a detailed estimate report for link roads.

In this regard, he also directed the submission of the report along with fund requirement within seven days so that the renovation of village roads could be done on a priority basis.

While reviewing development works in the district, Sidhu directed the executing officer to prepare a detailed action plan from January 2015 to December 2015. The action plan report must contain details of the expenditure on the development works. The requisite report should be submitted by December 15.

The Deputy Commissioner said the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, initiated by the Prime Minister, would be continued in future. Cleaning work under the campaign would be done on a priority.
