Jalandhar youth ‘kidnapped’ in Thailand

JALANDHAR: Jalandhar youth Ajay Kumar has allegedly been kidnapped in Thailand and the kidnappers have demanded Rs 10 lakh as ransom.

Jalandhar, June 16

Jalandhar youth Ajay Kumar has allegedly been kidnapped in Thailand and the kidnappers have demanded Rs 10 lakh as ransom.

ACP (West) RPS Sandhu said Ajay’s brother Avinash had told them that Ajay and his friend Harkanwal Singh had gone to Thailand on a tourist visa and Harkanwal had “escaped to Australia” from there. He said he had received a call from kidnappers, who had demanded Rs 10 lakh to free Ajay.

“We have informed the Punjab Police headquarters and officials there are contacting the Thailand police to trace the tower location of the kidnapper,” the ACP said. — TNS
