Mussoorie, December 3
Members of the Mussoorie Hotel Association, during the general body meeting held at a hotel late last evening, laid stress on increasing the membership of the organisation.
The financial report presented in the house was approved with a thumping majority on the occasion.
The resignation of present general secretary Ajay Bhargav was also accepted. Bhargav cited some personal reasons for not being able to carry on with the duty in future.
The new general secretary of the association, Sanjay Agarwal, would take charge on December 29.
President of the association RN Mathur thanked the members and the executive body for their support. He said the association would hold a membership drive and bring more hotels into its fold so that it could raise its voice at various forums effectively.
He appealed to hoteliers to stand up and fight for their issues in unison.
Outgoing secretary Ajay Bhargav read out the annual report while treasurer Shailendar Karnawal placed the details of income and expenditure.
Later, officials from Everest Industry Abhijit and Puneet Kuma, through a slide show presentation, showcased the new technology being adopted by them in construction of hotels to provide safety from natural calamities, such as earthquakes, to a large extent and strengthen the hotel buildings. They also answered the queries of the hoteliers.
Members of the hotel association Dhanraj Singh, Ram Kumar Goyal, Ashish Goyal, Rajat Kapoor, Kanwaljit Singh, Varun Ranawat, Ashok Agarwal, Neeraj Agrawal, Harshada Bohra, Madhuri Nautiyal, Ravindar Goyal, and Praveen Bhandari attended the meeting.
