The state government has drafted uniform building codes to streamline the process of building plan approval. A spokesperson said the codes had been drafted after considering the issues such as renewable energy generation, the provisions of green buildings, disaster mitigation. The codes had been hosted on the websites of the Urban Local Bodies Department, Town and Country Planning Department, HUDA and the HSIIDC for inviting suggestions from people. TNS

The Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation is working on projects to develop a 2-km wide controlled area on both sides of the 53-km  Palwal-Manesar section of the 136-km Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway falling in Palwal district. Sudhir Rajpal, Managing Director, HSIIDC said the Regional Scheme – 2021 for the NCR had been prepared and notified by the NCR Planning Board (NCRPB). TNS

Body of woman found

The body of a woman was recovered in the district’s Segti village on Thursday. The deceased has not been identified so far. A villager noticed that the body lying near a bridge. The police took the body to the Civil Hospital. There were reportedly no marks of injuries on the body. OC

Boy killed in mishap

A boy was killed and two others were injured after being hit by a train on the Rewari-Jaipur track near Bhadawas crossing here on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Samir (7) of Rampura Colony here. He reportedly died on the spot. Naseeb and Saajan, the injured, are undergoing treatment. TNS

Bus driver dies 

Sukhbir (50), a Haryana Roadways’ driver in Karnal depot, died of a heart attack driving a  bus this morning.

As a result, the bus collided with a scooter and then with a tree near the NDRI before coming to a halt. Fortunately, no passenger was hurt .

Eyewitnesses said Sukhbir tried to control the bus but it  collided with a scooter and then with a tree. TNS

‘Know Your Case’ scheme

As many as 1,700 persons visited police stations and offices of gazetted police officers in Karnal district to get information about their cases under the ‘Know Your Case Scheme’. Of these, about 1,300 obtained information about pending complaints and 400 received information about criminal cases. The scheme was started to bring about transparency in the functioning of the state police. TNS

‘Rollback’ fuel price hike

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has condemned the increase in the prices of petrol and diesel twice in a fortnight. Om Prakash, secretary of the party, said it was the 19th increase in the diesel prices and 16th in the price of petrol since the BJP came into power. The party workers handed over memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner seeking a rollback of the increased prices. TNS

Cultural training for youths

The state BJP’s cultural cell would impart social and cultural leadership training to 2,000 youths of the state to propagate party’s ideology, Indian art and culture. Vikrant Dhamija, state president of the BJP’s cultural cell, today said four state level cultural programmes have been organised to promote Indian art and culture besides girl child education. TNS
