Keep watch on eve-teasers, SP tells women cops
Karnal: Surinder Singh Bhoria, SP, on Monday directed the women cops appointed on Durga Shakti vehicles, which were flagged off by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar last week from Panchkula, to show zero tolerance against eve-teasing in the city, particularly near educational institutes. Assigning the women cops the duties and flagging off three Durga Shakti vehicles from the mini-secretariat, the SP asked them to remain vigilant and take immediate action on each and every information given by the police control room or by Durga Shakti android mobile app recently launched by the CM. Teenaged couple ends life by jumping before train
Panipat: A teenaged couple reportedly committed suicide by jumping before a goods train near Dahar village in the district on Sunday night. Government Railway Police ASI Krishan Lal said the train driver informed them that a boy and a girl had jumped before the train near Dahar railway crossing on the Delhi-Ambala railway track around 9pm. The victims had left their village around 2.30 pm on Sunday. The girl had left her studies after Class IX last year and the boy had got a compartment in Class X, he added. The teenagers, both under 18 years of age, belonged to different religions, he said. The families reached there and identified the bodies. TNS
Withdraw cases against Rampal: Followers
Rohtak: The followers of controversial saint Rampal, who is undergoing trials in cases of murder and sedition, have asked the state BJP government to withdraw the “false” cases against him, or else be prepared to face defeat in the coming elections. “We have 12 lakh ‘bhakt’ voters in Haryana. We will tell each of them not to vote for the BJP. They will also appeal to their friends and relatives to vote for anyone but the BJP candidates. Thus, we will stop 15,000 to 20,000 votes from being cast to the BJP in each Assembly segment and get it defeated,” said Chand Rathi, media in-charge of Satlok Ashram, in a press statement issued here on Monday.
