Gandhinagar, March 30
The Gujarat Government on Thursday passed a Bill in the state Assembly to regulate the fee charged by private schools at all levels — from primary to higher secondary.
The “Gujarat Self-Financed Schools (Regulation of Fees) Bill, 2017,” provides for fixing of tuition fee for primary schools at Rs 15,000 per annum, for secondary at Rs 25,000 and for higher secondary at Rs 27,000 annually. It also provides for the constitution of a Fee Regulatory Committee, to be headed by a retired district and sessions court judge. — OC
