In Southeast Delhi's Tughlakabad area, a husband, Deepak Sipne (40) and wife, Mamta (28) committed suicide leaving their two children: son Divyansh (11) and daughter Tista (8). The children were from the Sipne and his previous wife, who died in 2017, DCP said.
According to DCP Chinmoy Biswal, a call was received on July 29 afternoon about suicide by the couple at 140/4 Tughlakabad Extension. Soon, police reached the spot.
The door was found closed from inside and the light in the inner room was on, he said.
On looking from ventilator, one could see two different persons hanging from fans in two different rooms, DCP said.
On breaking the door open, the Crime Team found that Sipne has committed suicide in the outer room by hanging himself using 'gamcha' from the fan and Mamta's body was found hanging from 'chunni' from the fan in the inner room, he said.
A suicide note written by Sipne was found where in it has been mentioned that he is committing suicide and does not blame anyone, he said.
The bodies have been sent to mortuary for post-mortem by the police.
