Former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh was remembered on his birth anniversary at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University today.
Remembering the leader, Vice-Chancellor KP Singh said he was the real well wisher of peasants and downtrodden. Throughout his life he struggled for their uplift and welfare. He said while occupying key positions as CM of Uttar Pradesh, Union minister and PM, he implemented several economic policies, including abolition of Zamindari, enactment of Land Reform Act and establishment of rural reconstruction department which proved instrumental in transforming agricultural economy and improving economic condition of the farmers. — TNS
