Chandigarh, May 11
Chaudhary Aurangzeb, state president of the BJP’s Minority Morcha, will be the chairman of the Haryana State Haj Committee.
Sources say that the state government has finalised his name and the members of the State Haj Committee have duly elected him as president. Now, the file pertaining to his appointment is with Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for approval before a notification to this effect is issued.
The committee has as members three MLAs Zakir Hussain from Nuh, Naseem Ahmed from Firozepur Jhirka and Rahisa Khan from Punhana. Other members of the committee from local bodies are Anisha Bano, chairperson of Nuh Zila Parishad, Zakir Hussain, a block samiti member from Punhana, and Iqbal Ahmed, sarpanch of Hirvari Bawantheri village in Firozepur Jhirka tehsil of Nuh.
The committee has four members representing Muslim voluntary organisations working in the field of public administration, finance, education, culture and social work. These members are Habib Khan from Gurugram, Akbar Khan from Champer village in Jind, Aurangzeb from Bisru village in Nuh (elected president of the committee), Nasib Khan from Daulatpur village in Faridabad, and Islamoodin, a resident of NIT, Faridabad. Chairperson of the State Waqf Board is an ex-officio member of the committee. HCS officer Yogesh Kumar has been notified as Executive Officer of the committee. — TNS
