IG, officials verify seized drugs before disposal

A drug disposal committee, led by Yogender Nehra, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Karnal range, checked the case property recovered in 180 cases under the NDPS Act which was kept in judicial Maal khana in the court premises here today.

The seized property will be disposed after following specified procedure.

Police PRO said that procedure to destroy poppy, doda , husk, ganja, charas and smack seized in 180 NDPS cases by Kaithal police was under way and IG Nehra reached Maal khana along with other officials. He said that out of 180 cases, case property in 66 cases already decided by the courts had already been destroyed and samples preserved in such cases are likely to be destroyed in due course. Other four cases had also been decided by the court and rest 110 cases were going on in the courts. Three samples would be preserved and case property would be destroyed as per the procedure. — OC
