In Karnal, guest teachers face water cannons

KARNAL: The police on Tuesday used water cannons on guest teachers holding a state-level protest march near the mini-secretariat here.

The police on Tuesday used water cannons on guest teachers holding a state-level protest  march near the mini-secretariat here.

The guest teachers had been on dharna for the last 17 days, demanding regularisation of jobs, equal pay for equal work, facilities on a par with regular teachers and issuance of service rules.

Maina Yadav, state president, Guest Teachers Association, condemned the uses of water cannons on the protesters teachers and said they would continue their protest till their demands were met.

The state president said that the government must ensure the facilities to the guest teachers at par with the regular staff members.

Get support of Dushyant, Saini  

JJP leader Dushyant Chautala and LSP supremo Raj Kumar Saini came to the dharna site and extended their support. They accused the BJP of playing with the future of guest teachers.
