A local court has awarded life sentence to Sanjeev Kumar of Jogna Khera village for killing his wife.
District and Sessions Judge Shalini Singh Nagpal also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on the convict.
In case of non-payment of penalty, he will have to undergo imprisonment of two additional years.
Sajeev had married Suman Devi in 2006 and the latter was subjected to domestic violence.
Suman was strangled to death at her house in Jogna Khera village, near here.
As Suman was found dead in November last year, her brother Ravi had alleged foul play by Sanjeev and his family members.
However, Sanjeev was found guilty by the court on Thursday.
