Medical store sealed for selling MTP kit

A team of the Health Department on Wednesday raided a medical store for selling medical termination of pregnancy kit illegally here. The team sealed the store and registered a case against the owner.

Dr Munesh Kumar, Deputy Civil Surgeon, said that they received information that a medical store owner in Deshraj Colony was selling abortion pills illegally.

A decoy customer was sent to Hariom Medical Store on Tuesday evening. The owner, Hariom, took the money in advance and asked the decoy to come on Wednesday. “We sent the decoy to the medical store again on Wednesday and he gave him the MTP kit which he brought from a nearby shop,” said Dr Kumar.

As he gave the kit to the decoy, the team raided the store in the presence of Duty Magistrate Jitender Singh, BDPO, Israna, and caught him, but he pushed the team members and escaped. — TNS
