ROHTAK: A breach in a minor canal has inundated crops on hundreds of acres at Behelba village of Rohtak district.

A breach in a minor canal has inundated crops on hundreds of acres at Behelba village of Rohtak district.

The affected farmers staged a protest against the delay in action on part of the authorities concerned.

Sensing the gravity of the matter, the district administrative as well as police officials rushed to the spot and placated the affected farmers.

Meham SDM Abhishek Meena said the breach in the canal had been plugged and arrangements made to drain out the water accumulated in the fields.

“A special survey will be conducted soon to assess the damage caused to the crops,” he maintained.
