Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday lauded the central government for the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A in Jammu and Kashmir.

Singh was speaking here at the Assandh grain market, while campaigning for Bakshish Singh Virk—the BJP candidate from the area in the upcoming Assembly elections.

The Defence Minister said the BJP had “brought one nation, one constitution and one law, fulfilling the dreams of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.”

"We have done what we have promised," said Singh.

Singh said the BJP government had given “all rights” to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, adding that India had given a “befitting” reply to Pakistan.

Criticising Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for referring to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi as 'chor', he said that one should respect the constitutional posts of the country.

"I went to France to bring Rafale and this fighter plane will strengthen our armed forces," he said.

He said that Congress leaders who critised him for worshipping a Rafale jet and writing 'om' on it should have, instead, "welcomed" the arrival of the fighter jet.

“Their opposition gives Pakistan strength,” Singh added.

Singh said Pakistan had “given us Kargil war in reply to our efforts of peace and friendship.”

He said that partition was not the right decision.

"The two nation theory was not good," he said

He said Pakistan to should come forward to stand against terrorism.

“For the development of Haryana and country, all should press the button of lotus symbol on October 21. It will ensure the victory of Bakshish Singh Virk,” Singh said.
