Three kids drown in Fatehabad pond

HISAR: In a tragic incident, three children were drowned in a pond at Deewana village of Fatehabad district on Saturday.

In a tragic incident, three children were drowned in a pond at Deewana village of Fatehabad district on Saturday. The deceased have been identified as Badal (10), son of Surender; Shankar (12), son of Rinku; and Lovely (12), son of Redha Ram, all residents of Deewana village.

According to information, the children were students of a government primary school. They left for lunch at a community feast organised in the village. After having meal, they decided to have a bath in the newly dug village pond. However, they got drowned in the pond. Other children standing nearby raised the alarm and Angrej Singh, a chowkidar at the adjoining waterworks, called other villagers and brought out the three kids from the pond.

The children were rushed to the primary health centre in Kulan village but the medical staff there referred them to the hospital in Tohana town. However, they were declared brought dead at the hospital. The Jakhal police have registered a case.
