Dharamsala, September 19
Activists of various social and environment organisations on Wednesday took out a rally here to urge people to shun single-use plastic and use cloth and jute bags instead. A large numbers of activists initially gathered at the Gandhi Park near Kotwali market and then marched to Kachehri crossing carrying banners and placards displaying messages urging people to shun plastic bags.
Dr Anjan Kumar Kalia, who had organised the rally, said it was high time that people joined hands to address the issue. Kalia said climate change was evident now and people from across the world were coming together to sensitise masses about it. — TNS
