Second accused held in fake degree racket

The police arrested the second accused wanted in selling forged degrees to youngsters outside the state.

A complaint was lodged by Arni University with the police, who had earlier arrested a youth Amit Kumar from UP on October 24. He had produced a forged degree of the university for procuring a migration certificate of the same institution.

During interrogation, the police learnt about the second accused Arvind Kumar of Achhota village in Meerut, who had sold a fake degree to Amit Kumar of Kutwan village for Rs 80,000. Nurpur DSP Sahil Arora said a case had been registered. The accused was produced in the court on Tuesday, which remanded him in six-day police custody. The police are suspecting an inter-state gang’s involvement. — OC
