Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has sought public support for Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur at Drang in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Addressing a public meeting at Padhar, the CM said to ensure development of the area, people should once again elect Kaul Singh Thakur by casting votes in his favour. He said as Kaul Singh Thakur was busy with Drang constituency, he could not visit other constituencies for campaigning.
Virbhadra said, “During election time, I hardly visit my constituency for even a single day for campaigning as I remained busy in seeking people’s support for Congress candidates in other constituencies. This time allow the Health Minister to go out of his constituency for election campaigning.”
The Chief Minister inaugurated a sub-divisional police officer’s office, industrial training institute, sub-employment office and branch of Himachal Pradesh Co-operative, Agriculture and Rural Development Bank at Padhar. He also held bhumi puja for the construction of joint office building of various departments at Padhar.
He said all the MLAs got equal budget for the development of their areas without any discrimination but the BJP’s sole agenda was to criticize leaders of the Congress.
The CM announced a block elementary education office to be opened at Aut in Aut tehsil, veterinary dispensary at Masaar, Rs 5 crore for roads in the area, upgrade of government middle schools to high schools at Babli, Bijni Dhalwaan and Mathyana, up-grade of government primary schools to middle schools at Basehar and Bulang, office of Assistant Public Relations Officer (APRO) at Padhar and new primary schools at Ropra in Dalah gram panchayat and Dhanog in GP Nasloh.
Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur welcomed the Chief Minister to his home constituency and said that “when I became MLA in 1977, Drang constituency was too underdeveloped and I am thankful to the people of the assembly who have made me MLA eight times because of the massive development undertaken during my tenure as MLA.
