The Indora police on Wednesday arrested a youth for producing a forged degree of Arni University for procuring the migration certificate of the same institution.
The accused, identified as Amit Kumar of Kutwan village in Muzaffarpur district of Uttar Pradesh, was produced in a court on Thursday afternoon and sent to eight-day police remand.
Nurpur DSP Sahil Arora said following the complaint of the Registrar of Arni University, a case under Sections 420, 468 and 471 of the IPC had been registered against the accused.
As per information, Kumar allegedly forged a degree of the university and produced it before the administration for procuring a migration certificate. However, when the university authorities checked its records, it was found that no such degree had been issued to the accused.
The police have started the investigation.
