Mohali, September 17
A motorcycle-borne delivery agent working with Zomato, a food aggregator, died after being hit by a Pajero here on Monday night.
The victim, Harjeet Singh (25) of Manjitpur village in Chamkaur Sahib, was on his way to deliver a food packet at Phase XI when the incident occurred in front of the PCAstadium around 1 am.
The police said Pawandeep Singh (50)of Chandigarh was coming out of the stadium when the collision took place.
Harjit, who sustained serious injuries, was rushed to the GMCH in Sector 32, Chandigarh, where he succumbed to his injuries.
A case has been registered against Pawandeep Singh under Sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 304 A (causing death by negligence) and 427 of the Indian Penal Code at the Phase VIII police station. —TNS
