Jail staffer posts videos of wife with cop, alleges illicit affair

After two videos — purportedly showing a woman employee of the Kurukshetra University under the influence of drugs and with Sangrur Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) incharge Inspector Vijay Kumar — went viral on social media, she alleged on Sunday that her husband had uploaded both “doctored” videos to tarnish her image.

Gurjant Singh, posted with the Haryana Jails Department, admitted that he had uploaded the videos to “expose the illicit relations” of his wife with Vijay.

Both Vijay and the woman have denied the allegation and said they had started the process of taking legal action against Gurjant.

She alleged that she had a dispute with her husband and they had been staying separately. In August 2017, a friend of her husband, Surinder Singh, called both to his house, where the duo decided to start their married life afresh, she said. However, within a few days, they again developed differences, she said.

“Since Inspector Vijay Kumar was a close friend of my husband, Surinder had invited him too at his house in Hariau village. After our compromise, Gurjant offered liquor to them. He gave me a cold drink mixed with some sedative, after drinking which I started behaving abnormally. My husband made videos of me in that state and when we developed differences again, Gurjant uploaded the video on social media to get a divorce. I am going to take legal action against him,” she alleged. They got married in 2003 and a have son of 10 years, who stays with her.

On the other hand, Gurjant, while speaking over phone, said, “I got the videos from a mobile I took from the house of my wife. I did not go to Hariau, neither did I give any drug to my wife.”

Inspector Vijay said, “I went to Hariau only to solve the couple’s dispute and families of my friends with their children were also present there. Gurjant is levelling baseless allegations against me. I have informed my seniors and will take legal action against him.”
