Sirsa, December 24
An undertrial prisoner lodged in Sirsa district jail who attempted suicide in October died at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) here today.
Jail Superintendent JS Sethi said Labh Singh (50) was facing trial under the NDPS Act and tried to strangle himself on October 15. He was saved by fellow prisoners and jail staff shifted him to the General Hospital.
The same day, he was referred to PGIMS, Rohtak, due to his serious condition. He died there last evening. — TNS
