Rishina Kandhari, who is a mother and an actress, isn’t affected by her marital status when it comes to work. She talks about taking a trip to Manali with her family and her new work project.
Does being a mother affect your career?
Being a mother or being married doesn't matter if you are working for the television industry because everyone has become broad-minded. Earlier, people would give married actors with kids the roles of older characters but not anymore. Getting married is a personal choice and working in TV industry is a professional thing and I don't feel that these things are getting affected anymore.
You did an episodic for Gumrah. What was so unique about it?
I worked with Balaji for the first time. The best part of my character is that she is a cop and a crime branch officer. She is very different. She is a strong headed woman, very young, charming, stylish and yes very strict.
When was your summer vacation?
The weather in Mumbai was too hot and we wanted to go to a hill station. Long trip was not possible so we decided to go to Manali for a short trip. We went on a seven-day trip to Manali with my husband Vishal and daughter Tiarah. Actually we were supposed to go to Australia as my sister stays there but we plan to visit after July.
How was it to go on a trip with your young daughter?
I took my daughter Tiarah along with us for a trip. I am a very frank mother and I treat my daughter like a friend and my daughter has grown up seeing us being very adventurous and active parents. When she was three years old, I took her out for the first time, so she has been travelling with us since her birth. Even when I went for river rafting she wasn't allowed there but she was watching us keenly. She did horse-riding and swimming. She is a very active kid. She is a very independent kid too. I have trained my daughter to do her things on her own but I do pamper her a lot.
Do you go for summer holidays every year?
Yes, every year in the summer we plan for vacation like last year we went to Bangkok and this year to Manali.
