Diwali celebrations at Sanskriti School

The pre-primary wing of Jammu Sanskriti School, Kathua, celebrated the festival of Diwali with enthusiasm. Mili R Sumbria, Principal, along with the staff, were also present on the occasion.

Ramayana was enacted by students of pre-primary and nursery.



The pre-primary wing of Jammu Sanskriti School, Kathua, celebrated the festival of Diwali with enthusiasm. Mili R Sumbria, Principal, along with the staff, were also present on the occasion.The event began with the lighting of the lamp, wherein, students chanted mantras and bhajans. They also recited beautiful rhymes on the occasion. A skit was also performed by the students of preparatory on "Ramayana" the epic. Students of pre-primary and nursery also presented a fancy dress programme. The principal of the school wished all the students a happy and prosperous Diwali.

NBA accreditation for JU Biz School

The Business School, University of Jammu (JU), has been granted the accreditation for its flagship MBA programme by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) of All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, for a period of three years from June 2019 to June 2022. The NBA is one of the two major bodies responsible for the accreditation of higher education institutions in India along with the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The NBA team conducted an onsite evaluation of the MBA programme at The Business School on April 27 and 28, 2019. The team evaluated the programme on various parameters, which include infrastructure, placement of students, industrial exposure, profile of faculty members, national and international exposure of students, research output and facilities, course curriculum, extracurricular engagements and social interactions.

Kathak workshop at IMFA

Kathak maestro Pt Jai Kishan Maharaj and his son Pt Tribhuwan Maharaj along with disciples conducted a day-long kathak workshop with students and staff of the Institute of Music & Fine Arts (IMFA), University of Jammu. The students of the music department were given demonstration on kathak with an emphasis on mudras, expressiveness, rasas and dramatisation. 

Inter-collegiate kabaddi tourney

The final matches of Inter-Collegiate Kabaddi Tournament in both men and women section were played at GCW, Gandhi Nagar. The tournament was organsied by the Department of Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ).Dr Twinkle Suri, Dean Student Welfare, CLUJ, was present during the final matches. In the women section, the match was played between GGM Science College and GCW, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, wherein, GCW, Gandhi Nagar emerged victorious by 49-20 to lift the winners trophy. In the men section, the final was played between GGM Science College and Government MAM College. Government MAM College outclassed GGM Science College by 35-19 to bag top honours. The matches were officiated by Keshav Singh, Harpreet Singh, Amandeep Singh, Dheeraj Sharma, Akhil Kumar and Banty Kumar. 

Deepika bring laurels to school

Deepika Sharma, a  student of Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar, bagged first prize in the All-India Dance Sports Festival 2019, which was recently held in Goa. Deepika (10) clinched gold medal in the competition. Participants were drawn from different states of the country in the competition. 

Students visit Botanical Garden

As many as 150 students and staff of Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana, visited the Botanical Garden and Geology Museum of University of Jammu (JU). The visit was organised in connection with the activity on flora and fauna of India. The children were given a guided tour of the gardens, wherein, they were explained in detail about the medicinal properties of some plants. The herbarium-cum-museum in the gardens was the next stop where artifacts made up of different parts of many plants were on display. Dr Harish, Prof Harpreet and Curator Nitin Kumar were the main guides on the tour.
