JAMMU: To celebrate 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, J&K Postal Circle, is going to organise two-day philately exhibition from Wednesday at KV No 1, Gadhinagar, Jammu, which has been named as “Gandhipex-2019”’.

Jammu, November 18

To celebrate 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, J&K Postal Circle, is going to organise two-day philately exhibition from Wednesday at KV No 1, Gadhinagar, Jammu, which has been named as “Gandhipex-2019”’.

Gaurav Srivastava, Director Postal Services, Jammu and Kashmir Circle, informed that this exhibition was being organised to connect the public, especially the younger generation and school students, with the Postal Services.

Srivastava said there would be around 15,000 rare stamps on display carrying many interesting topics, including Harry Potter, Princess Diana, some magnificent cars, Hollywood, Railways, and environment, stamps on Kashmir, defence services, animal kingdom, beautiful birds and many more exciting things.

The main focus will be the display of stamps issued by the Department of Posts on Mahatma Gandhi. Two special covers and a set of 10 picture post cards on Mahatma Gandhi will also be released by Jammu & Kashmir Circle on Mahatma Gandhi which will be the highlight of the exhibition.

“My stamp” facility will be available on both days of the exhibition, to let people get personalised stamps with their photographs on it. Just imagine how nice it will be sending letters to friends and relatives with your smiling photo on the stamp,” He said.
