Poets gather to celebrate anniv of Dogri Sanstha

JAMMU: The Dogri Sanstha, Jammu, on Sunday organised a special ‘kavi gosthi’ in connection with the celebration of the platinum jubilee of its foundation.

The Dogri Sanstha, Jammu, on Sunday organised a special ‘kavi gosthi’ in connection with the celebration of the platinum jubilee of its foundation.

The Dogri Sanstha was formed on Basant Panchami in 1944. Having completed 75 years of its formation, 2019 is being celebrated as its platinum jubilee year.

Almost all prominent Dogri poets participated in kavi gosthi. The event was also attended by poets from Jammu, Udhampur, Akhnoor and Kathua.

Poets Gianeshwar Sharma, Nirmal Vinod, Susheel Begana, Randhir Raipuria, Vijaya Thakur, Promila Manhas, Bishan Singh Dardi, Jagdeep Dubey, Kuldeep Kippi, Abdul Qadir Kundariya, Dalmotra, Ashok Khajuria, Deepak Arsi, Raj Kumar, Baljeet Singh Raina, Darshan Darshi, Ratan Bhardwaj, Lalit Magotra, Pawan Verma, Bansi Lal, Sandeep Sufi read their poems on the occasion.

President, Dogri Sanstha, Lalit Magotra, while speaking on the occasion, said it was on this day that a solid foundation of modern Dogri literature was laid. He recounted the major achievements of the Sanstha and the stellar role it had played in the evolution of the Dogri literature.
