Activists of the Punjab Parents Association today said they would shortly announce a Jail Bharo Andolan in protest against the lodging of an FIR against association’s president Kamaldeep Singh by the Jalandhar Police.

The association said while they had submitted several complaints against the schools to the police and the district administration, these had not been acted upon. The association members had also made a complaint on the arrest of the association president with the National Human Rights Commission.

Members led by association vice president Rajnish Karparia said they would hold a huge meeting in Jalandhar next week in which parents from across the state would participate. They also demanded an inquiry to be marked on their complaint against the administration of DIPS.

Parents also said students were at the receiving end of the ire of schools who were harassing them for the protests or dharna being held by parents.
