Re-evaluation: Students can get photocopy of answer sheets

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a fresh circular for Class XII students, reading that students can get the photocopy of their answer sheets during the re-evaluation process.

In order to assist the students, the board, in its website has released all necessary modalities and schedule for the Class XII students, through which they can check the status of re-evaluation process and get their queries verified.

The photocopy of the answer sheets will be provided as per the provisions of the RTI Act, 2005.

The process for making corrections to the answer sheets includes three steps; verification of marks, obtaining photocopy of the evaluated answer sheets and Re-evaluation.

The photocopy of the answer sheets will be provided as per the provisions of the RTI Act, 2005. Whereas, the requests for all the processes will be accepted only Online and the specified processing charges will also be deposited through online mode only.

KS Randhawa, principal MGN Public School, who is also a CBSE coordinator stated, “The candidates have to make separate application for all three steps and for the verification of marks they will have to pay Rs 500, for generating photocopy of the answer sheet, Rs 700 and Rs 100 for every answer that the students wants to get re-evaluated.”

“Only those candidates who will apply for the verification of marks online will be eligible to apply for obtaining the photocopy of answer sheets of the particular subject. Also, only those candidates who have applied for obtaining photocopy of the evaluated answer book shall be eligible to apply for re-evaluation or challenge the marks awarded to any question,” he added.

Randhawa said: “Besides, the circular reads that the result of the verification of marks will be uploaded on CBSE’s website in candidate’s login account and in case of change in marks, a letter will also be sent to the applicant by the Speed Post.”

“In case, where there is no change of marks, no letter will be sent by the CBSE. However, information will be uploaded on the website. Request for re-evaluation/ challenges shall be accepted only for theory portion.

Applicants have also been advised to visit CBSE’s website for the status of verification request,” he added.
