Expressing deep sorrow over the death of the toddler, Fatehveer, after falling in an unused borewell, former Union Minister of State Vijay Sampla said due to some careless people, the little boy had to lose his life.

He said when the borewell was not needed then it should have been filled. Such incidents had happened at many places in the country.

Sampla said: “The state government should instruct all departments of the state to ensure that the borewells which are not in use in the area falling under their departments, must be immediately shut down and filled.”

Sampla said it was the result of the sluggish action of the state government that Fatehveer was not saved. If there was any need of the resources for rescue the state government should have sought the cooperation from the Central Government in time but their negligence led to the death of the innocent toddler.
