After the Pune incident in which McDonald’s employees had thrown out a poor boy of the restaurant going viral on social media, city based BJP leaders today pitched in to help some poor children.

To give a befitting reply to the alleged discrimination against the poor child at McDonald’s in Pune and make them (the food chain) realise its mistake, about 30 street boys were today taken to the restaurant situated in the BMC chowk here.

A few days ago, a staffer at McDonald’s in Pune had thrown out an impoverished child, saying such people were not allowed in. The boy had reportedly been taken to the restaurant by a woman to buy him food. The incident had created a storm in social media where youths strongly condemned the happening.

Amit Taneja, a local BJP leader, accompanied by several other leaders, today randomly picked over 30 poor children and took them to McDonald’s. “We want to spread the message in society that discrimination against such children is not acceptable at all. It hardly matters if it is McDonald’s or any other high-level restaurant. By taking such children and allowing them to buy food of their choice, we feel immensely blessed,” Taneja added.

Interestingly, several such children lined up at the restaurant and ordered food of their choice.

They were looking happy and their joy knew no bounds while they were placing order for the food of their choice.
Other people who were having food in the restaurant were surprised to
see these children enjoying food.
“We have never come to McDonald’s. We are feeling on Cloud Nine as we ordered the food of our choice,” some children enjoying burgers said.
Meanwhile, the McDonald’s staff also offered them a warm welcome and distributed balloons among them. The children thanked the eatery for the hospitality and the BJP leaders for the initiative.
