Vehicle challaned for creating noise pollution

JALANDHAR: In its drive to check noise pollution in the district under the “Tandarust Punjab Mission”, a joint team of Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) and traffic police, Jalandhar, on Wednesday issued challan to one vehicle for using multi- tone horns and cracker sound emitting silencer.

In its drive to check noise pollution in the district under the “Tandarust Punjab Mission”, a joint team of Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) and traffic police, Jalandhar, on Wednesday issued challan to one vehicle for using multi- tone horns and cracker sound emitting silencer.

The team, comprising of Junior Environmental Engineer (JEE), Varun Kumar, along with a team of the traffic police, led by ASI, traffic police, Harpreet Singh, checked 15 Royal Enfield motorcycles at Dr Ambedkar Chowk. The violator was also issued show a cause notice under Section 31-A of the Air Act, 1981. The team also appealed the owners of light vehicles to stop using pressure horns. TNS
