Four policemen, including a sub-inspector(SI), were booked for dereliction of duty after an undertrial escaped from the police custody in the Jagadhri courts complex on Saturday.
According to information, a police team led by assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Raj Kumar had arrested Rahish of Mukrampur village with narcotics on July 13 and booked him under the NDPS Act at Buria police station of Yamunanagar district.
He was produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class, who sent him to judicial custody.
According to information, when the police were about to leave for the district jail, the undertrial, Rahish, managed to escape from the police vehicle.
ASI Raj Kumar informed Balraj Singh, SHO, Buria police station, about the escaping of the undertrial.
On the complaint of SHO, a case was registered against SI Mahma Singh, ASI Raj Kumar, head constables Sunil Kumar and Narinder Kumar for dereliction of duty at HUDA police post, Jagadhri, on Sunday.
