Scared passengers aboard 12044 Moga-Ludhiana-New Delhi Shatabdi Express had a providential escape when stones were hurled on the moving train as it was at the outer crossing of Ludhiana railway station near Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib on Monday evening. A manager in a pharmaceutical company, Puneet Parashar, said the train had departed from Ludhiana about one and a half hours late. As it was near the outer crossing, more than a dozen big stones were thrown at the moving train. A window (double reinforced glass) of the coach C-8 was broken when stones hit it one after the other. Puneet said passengers in the coach C-8 pulled the chain to apprise the railway authorities of the incident when the train slowed down at Dhuri railway station. Some half a dozen passengers, including Puneet, were detained for questioning by the RPF at Dhuri. They were at the police station till the filing of this report.
