It seems to be raining new themes in Punjabi film industry, and well it is not only themes, the industry seems to be in the mood to give a chance to new jodis as well. This time in the circle, we pull covers off the first look posters of the upcoming films, and the new pairs to be seen together, first time on screen. And before we get down to doing that, wouldn’t you want to take a look at what the handsome turbanator Diljit Dosanjh is up to?
Mirror, mirror on the wall
Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh is currently working on his upcoming single; while sharing posts and tweets about his future projects, the artiste finds time to tweet some random pictures and one such picture of course has caught the fancy of his fans. In the picture, while Diljit is getting ready for the shoot, he tweets- ‘Sharpening My Husan Da Hathyar Bacho!! Ah well, this is Diljit Dosanjh.
The Curtains go up
The first look of any film is very important, which is why no filmmaker leaves any stone unturned to ensure that the first look poster catches eyeballs. Neeru Bajwa and Amrit Mann starrer Aate di chidi, Nimrat Khaira and Tarsem Jassar starrer Afsar and Kulwinder Billa and Wamiqa Gabbi starrer Parahuna, Ammy Virk and Sargun Mehta starrer Qismat are some of the upcoming Punjabi films that have thrown in all their creative energies in the first look posters and trailers of the films. Interestingly, these are also the films that will be bringing together not-seen-before jodis for the first time.
Season of sequels
If sources are to be believed then the year 2019 will be a season of sequels. Recently, known Punjabi singer-actor Ammy Virk announced the sequel of his much-talked about film, Bambukat. The sequel, currently titled Bambukat 2, will be directed by Pankaj Batra. In addition to this, audiences will also get to see the threequel of the cult Punjabi film Jatt and Juliet. The threequel is likely to be directed by Simerjit Singh. Meanwhile, Diljit Dosanjh has shared a poster from his upcoming film Shada, starring Neeru Bajwa as the lead actress. The film releases on May 24, 2019 and is produced by Brat Films, director Anurag Singh’s production house.
