They say there’s a woman behind every successful man; how about successful women? Apparently, not always; the ‘single’ ladies we catch up with have, however, achieved it all due to sheer hard work, grit, determination and perseverance.

It’s not been a conscious call for successful actress Divya Dutta to stay single, but not that she’s missing out on anything! “I actually love being on my own; to fly in any direction, whenever,” shares the National Award-winning actress. That she has a home to go back to, which she shares with her brother’s family, Divya finds it a win-win situation. “I am not bogged down by the responsibility to run it, and yet we have mutual love and care.”
So, has being single helped her professional career? “May be. I can travel longer and make bold decisions. Around me though, I see friends with life partners who take their decisions and also those who are not ‘allowed’.” Being in a typical Punjabi family, she still hears the ‘need’ to get married discourse. “I have realised that when I am dating, I get invited to a lot more parties because women are insecure having other single women over at their get-togethers. However, I know now who the real friends are,” she laughs.

Bestselling author Bhaavna Arora is pepped about two things in 2019. Undaunted, Lt. Ummer Fayaz of Kashmir, her novel is all set for a launch and she recently froze her eggs! Single, for she has not bumped into the right man yet, but that has not eclipsed what she wants from life. People often prod her, ‘You are beautiful and successful why don’t you use that to net a husband’? Her standard reply is, “I am using my talent to do what matters to me; touching lives with my writing.”
She did take the flak big time when her younger brother got married, but her close ones stood by her side, “My grandmother was like if he wants to get married now good enough, if Bhaavna does not fair enough.” But it’s not the lack of relationship that she misses, “Bonds are important for me; true I don’t have a boyfriend or husband, but I invest my love and care in the ties that are precious for me.” Frivolity in relationships is not her take and she’s happy having her close family rally around her.
Follow your heart, one life should not to be spent in adjustments and compromise. Live the life you desire and deserve.

With genuine people in her life, it’s work that she derives her satisfaction from. While she’s open to life as and when ‘Mr Right’ crosses her path, “Life for me is busy on personal as well as professional front, but I ensure each day is better than the previous,” she says.

Something that started as a passion is now profession for her; Nikita Luther is a poker champion who has the distinction of a gold bracelet at The World Series of Poker, Las Vegas (equivalent of Poker’s Olympic Gold). Though others around her are happy ‘settling’ down in matrimony, she’s too consumed in her love for the game!
Nikita represents India’s largest Poker website, Adda52.com, and continues to inspire, guide and encourage Indian woman to break the stereotypes. While she has nothing against having a partner, the constant travel and tournaments take all her time. “I am so happy with poker that I consider it my de facto partner,” says the peppy girl.
